2026年5月18日、ターミナル上で動作するAIコーディング支援ツール「GitHub Copilot CLI」のプレリリース版（v1.0.49-1など）がアップデートされるとともに、リモートコントロール機能の一般提供（GA）が開始されました。これにより、VS CodeやCLIで開始したCopilotセッションを、外出先からWebサイト（github.com）やGitHub Mobileアプリを使って継続することが可能になります。

最新版のCLIで /remote on コマンドを実行することで有効化され、AIエージェントが調査しているプランや実行中のコマンドをリアルタイムで監視できるようになります。また、自然言語で追加の指示を出して軌道修正したり、AIが求める権限リクエストをモバイルから承認して、そのままプルリクエストの作成まで完結させることができます。開発者がデスクから離れてもシームレスなワークフローを維持できる、マルチデバイス対応の強化として注目されています。
