GitHubは、開発者向けAIプログラミングアシスタントであるGitHub Copilotの課金体系を、2026年6月1日より従量課金制へと移行することを発表しました。

新しい課金モデルでは、すべてのCopilotプランに毎月一定量のGitHub AIクレジットが付与され、これを超過する使用量に対してクレジットを購入する形となります。ただし、基本的なコード補完と「Next Edit」の提案機能は、引き続きAIクレジットを消費せずに利用可能です。

年額プランは廃止され、既存の年額プラン加入者は契約期間満了まで現在のプランを継続できますが、その後はCopilot Freeプランまたは新しい月額有料サブスクリプションへの移行が必要となります。この変更は、Copilotの運用にかかるインフラコストの増加に対応し、より持続可能で、実際の利用状況に即した価格設定を実現するためのものです。また、新しい課金モデル導入の6月1日まで、安定したサービス提供のため一時的に利用制限が強化されています。
